Medicine is very complicated and we need a team approach from several individuals across various departments, with a variety of skills, in order to practice it effectively.

I believe that you, my patient, need to be an integral part of my team.

It is important for me to not only understand your medical problem, but also understand your specific situation and context, in order to provide you the treatment options which work best for your personal situation.

My job is to help you understand the situation, so that we develop a relationship which is based on trust and mutual respect, and we work together in dealing with your specific problems, in the best possible manner.

I believe that patients themselves make the best decisions if they have clarity in their minds, as to what they are faced with, as well as the pros and cons of all the different options they can chose from, in order to make a personalized decision for their treatment. If patients can learn how to better care for their illness, then they will get better faster and have less suffering.
