About Ann Parr

About The Provider

I am 50 percent clinical and 50 percent academic. This means that half of the time I see patients and operate on various disorders of the brain and spine, and half of the time I am in my spinal cord injury laboratory at the Stem Cell Institute. I became interested in spinal cord injury through interaction with my patients and the realization that there really are no good therapies available for spinal cord injured patients. The focus of my research is “translational” which means that my ultimate goal is to bring possible treatments to the clinic. My focus is on cell transplantation therapy, specifically looking at the oligodendrocyte.
