As an academic physician involved in patient care, research and education, I am committed to moving the field of IBD forward. I incorporate up to date science to the care of my patients but also acknowledge the limitations of current knowledge. Where science ends, art begins. My priority is to listen to my patients and understand their individual experience. This way, I am able to work with every patient as part of a team to formulate a plan that is realistic and specific to the person.
