I recognize that prior to getting a cancer diagnosis each person, family had routine, a life that included work, activities that brought enjoyment, responsibilities that were being managed, a sense of self as and identity that includes many things. When one is diagnosed with cancer this sense of self, identity and life routine as you know it is greatly impacted and disrupted. There are many adjustments that occur, many changes; and the day to day stress that was typically managed is now greatly increased and changed. It is my role to provide support to individuals and their supportive circle whomever that may include as these number of adjustments and changes occur. This support includes an overall understanding of what someone may be experiencing and providing resources to help cope and manage throughout your care and treatment. I consider it an honor to be a source of support in a challenging and difficult time.
