Cancer is devastating, and I am humbled and honored to do my best to help people, their families, and loved ones through the disease and its treatments. I believe in empowering people to understand the disease and treatments, and in working collaboratively for the best possible outcomes. I also believe in the potential promise of research and clinical trials to better understand and treat cancers. Oncology is a rapidly changing and incredibly exciting field. However, despite the amazing discoveries, especially in the last 10 years, we have much more work to do to ensure people live longer and better lives, and to cure more cancers, work that I and my colleagues are eager to continue to drive forward.
