Sarah Anne Wernimont, MD

Dr. Wernimont received her MD and PhD as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Afterward, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Iowa, as part of their Physician Scientist Training Program.  As a physician-scientist at the University of Minnesota, she runs a laboratory investigating basic mechanisms by which diabetes impacts placental development and leads a clinical research program investigating how variations in diabetes care impact maternal and offspring outcomes.  To her patients, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
